Its quick… well it is in some countries. We are getting so lazy and so dependent upon take away food and fast foods. Let me show you 7 ways how this is becoming the "Road to Hell"………..
1. SUGAR: The reason we "think" we like our burgers, fries, Kentucky is purely the sugar hit we get. These sugar hits become addictive over time as well helping to pile on the pounds.
2. ADDICTION: The more overweight we become, the more "down" we feel and so we eat more to make ourselves feel better.
3. SOCIAL PRESSURE: Everybody appears to love the take away, there is almost a social pressure to let the neighbours know that you didn’t wash up last night, you had takeaway.
4. KID PRESSURE : Kids love the sugars and can exert additional pressure
5. KID PRESSURE :Toys for the kids add even more pressure
6. SNACKETTES: Cheap snacks like the dollar ice cream, the snack wrap, the popcorn chicken, chicken bites.
7. ATTITUDES to COOKING To cook or not to cook? Younger generations have the choice now and place a higher value on spending their time on the internet.
These reasons above are leading to what I call the "road to hell" .Statistics are showing that the increases in salt and sugar intake is killing our healthy bodies, cancers and allergies are on a remarkable increase and unless we make conscious efforts to retrain our fatty brains, we will begin to die off sooner.
A great start is to understand that "we are what we eat" and to read up on the benefits of different food types. Make an effort to get the cookbook out and prepare some of your own foods, make Saturday night restaurant night at home. Invite your friends and family round and share great recipes. Teach the family and the younger ones how to cook for themselves.
